We're Going Where?

Towards the end of October, we decided to tell the girls about our upcoming trip that we had kept a secret for a while. We knew if we told them too early, they would ask us everyday when we were leaving for vacation; so, we decided we could handle about 2 weeks of asking and broke the news to them in a fun way. We wrote a series of poem-clues that led the girls on a scavenger hunt around the house. The clues suggested that our big surprise had to do with going somewhere and were hidden in their suitcases and with some of the things they'd need to pack (like their hair bows).

The final clue led them to 2 presents they each needed to unwrap. The box held some Disney coloring books for the car and Minnie Mouse ears with each girl's name on it. SB realized immediately what everything meant. She said, "I think I know where we're going . . . Disney World!" AM was quick to get excited too, and wore her ears the rest of the evening. Here are some pictures from our fun evening of treasure hunting. (In fact, SB enjoyed the treasure hunt part so much that she kept hiding and finding clues for several days after the 'official' hunt was over.)
