Day 4 - Day of Relaxing, then Character Dining

We had heard from many friends that it is important to build in a day of rest when going to DisneyWorld for an extended period of time. We definitely needed it by the fourth day! We didn't get up too early, ate some breakfast in our room, then headed out to our hotel swimming pool (which was directly in front of our room!). The girls loved swimming, and loved the huge serpent slide. Both of them worked up the courage to go down it by themselves, as long as Mommy or Daddy were at the bottom to catch them. We ate lunch at the quick service restaurant at our hotel, then went back to our room for naps (it was the first time we made the girls nap all week).

After our wonderfully refreshing rest, we set out for our Cinderella character dining adventure. We had to catch a bus to the Magic Kingdom, then took a boat over to the Grand Floridian Resort, where we had a buffet style dinner at 1900 Park Fare (7:20 reservations). Neither Micah nor I had ever experienced character dining, so it was a first for all of us. We waited with anticipation every time we heard that a new character was entering the dining area. We got to meet most of the characters from Cinderella, including the princess herself, Prince Charming, Lady Tramaine (the stepmother), and Anastasia & Druzilla (the stepsisters). AM told Lady Tramaine that she loved her, and Lady Tramaine responded by saying that all children and dogs just adore her. SB was embarrassed to meet Prince Charming, and I had to stand beside him so she would even be in the picture. Prince Charming gave the girls some pointers on snagging a prince - he told them to be sure to take dancing lessons, and to always wear their shoes a little on the loose side, so one could slip off and a prince could find it for them.

AM couldn't get enough of the strawberries off the buffet.
