We had an AMAZING trip to Disney World back in November. The weather was perfect (in the low 80s all week, with no rain!); we wore shorts everyday and were able to go swimming at our hotel pool. We stayed at the French Quarter Port Orleans Hotel on Disney property and were only a bus-ride away from everything. We loved everything about our vacation, from the fun towel animals left on our beds everyday by the housekeepers to the girls' special encounters with the princesses! The shows were spectacular and the Disney cast members were so friendly! This was the first time Micah and I had been to DisneyWorld since they offered the meal plan, and as part of our AAA package, we were able to have a free meal plan for 2 adults and 1 child (AM was free anyway since she was only 2). The food was WONDERFUL and plentiful. We got to eat at one sit-down restaurant, have one quick-service meal, plus 1 snack daily. The free meal plan definitely was a blessing and made our trip possible.
We have a TON of Disney pictures, and I'm sure I'll go overboard posting them on the blog, but, hey, you only go to Disney World for the first time once! Also, I'll try to put a basic daily itinerary because it worked so well, I'd do it all exactly the same if we had to do it all over again. As Peter Pan says, "Here we goooooooooooo, off to NeverLand!"
Our first ride at the Magic Kingdom - the carousel!
At lunch, we were the 100th customer of the day, so this lady announced our arrival with great gusto, and we got free dessert (a chocolate milkshake for daddy and a brownie sundae for the rest of us to share):
AM loved the magical show in front of Cinderella's castle. It featured Mickey, Minnie, Goofy & Donald, as well as Cinderella, Snow White, and Aurora. We saw the show several times since they performed it throughout the day, and by the end, she was dancing along with the performers.
Since the parks were decorated for Christmas, even Cinderella's castle was dressed up in a special way!
Day 1 - Magic Kingdom
FantasyLand rides - Mickey's Philharmagic, Peter Pan's Flight, It's a Small World, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Snow White (although the girls didn't like this ride because it was scary), Tea Cups
AdventureLand - Jungle Cruise, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Enchanted Tiki Room Show, Pirates of the Caribbean
TomorrowLand - Buzz Lightyear's Ranger Spin, Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Tomorrowland Speedway
We met Mickey, Minnie, and 3 princesses at the Town Hall in the late afternoon.
Lunch (reservations at 12:55) at the Plaza Restaurant, then dinner at our hotel for the quick-service meal.
It took the girls a little while to get used to the rides because most of them start out very dark and ominous. Right off the bat, their favorite ride was It's a Small World, and by the end of the week, they really loved Peter Pan's Flight too!
