For Day 2, we headed over to the Animal Kingdom. Micah and I practically ran over to the new Expedition Everest ride when we first arrived. The line was so short, we didn't even have to get a fastpass, but we did take advantage of the rider swap option so one parent could stay with the girls while the other parent rode. It was a fun ride, with unexpected twists, turns, riding forward, then backward, then forward again. We didn't do very many rides with the girls at the Animal Kingdom, but we enjoyed the shows they had there, including Finding Nemo - the Musical, and Festival of the Lion King. Also, we enjoyed the Kilimanjaro Safari (where we saw a baby elephant), the Triceratop Spin, and The Boneyard (a huge playground for children).
Micah was excited to get some brisket at the Flame Tree Barbecue restaurant, where we ate an early lunch (our quick-service meal). We got a great view of the Jungle Parade in front of the Tusker House, then when the parade was over, it was exactly time to go inside for our dinner reservations at the Tusker House (at 5:05 pm).
After finishing our day at the Animal Kingdom, we headed back over to the Magic Kingdom to watch the Electric Light Parade. Micah and I both remember the Electric Light Parade (including the music) from our childhood, so it was nice to know that some things never change!
Beautiful view of the new Everest Expedition ride:
