Last Day of Preschool 2011

We were so thankful that the girls had such wonderful preschool teachers this year. SB learned more things than I could have imagined this year. Here are some of the things she learned: she recognizes all her letters and can even write many of the letters, a Bible verse for each letter of the alphabet, many shapes (including hexagon, pentagon, octagon, and rhombus), the months of the year, days of the week, she can rhyme (and recognize rhyming words in a sentence), write her name, she can use scissors, and she can count to 59 (by herself). On her end of the year progress report, she achieved Satisfactory or Excellent on each item. Mrs. Davis was a wonderful teacher for SB, and we hope AM will have her when she's in the 3 year old room.

AM had wonderful teachers too! Mrs. Audrey and Mrs. Martha were so loving to AM as she definitely had separation anxiety for most of the year. She usually would only cry for a few seconds, and would stop by the time I was gone, but it was nice to know my little one would be scooped up and loved on immediately! She learned a lot too this year: she almost knows all her ABC's, she loves to do art projects (especially with paint, thanks to preschool), and she knows tons of songs! AM didn't learn as many 'measurable' things as SB did this year, but it's amazing to think she was only a 14 month old baby when she started preschool, and now she's a 2 year old toddler!

Here are pictures of the girls with their teachers (SB with Mrs. Davis, then Mrs. Ross; AM with Mrs. Audrey).
