Mice on Main

April 21st was Micah's and my 10th wedding anniversary. The day before our anniversary, I was excited to hear these words from Micah when he called me during the day, "Pick up the girls from preschool, go home and pack some clothes for us, we're going out-of-town!" Micah was able to be off work unexpectedly for a couple of days, so we headed to Greenville/Spartanburg for a mini-vacation. We were thankful that the girls were able to stay at Mimi and Granddaddy's house.

We did take the girls to Greenville for one day, and we had a scavenger hunt on Main Street. As a senior class project, a local high schooler decided to 'hide' some statues of mice all along Main Street for children (and adults) to try to find. He chose mice because of his love for the book, "Goodnight Moon;" since there are 9 mice on the pages of that book, he decided to have an artist sculpt 9 mice for Main Street. After finding all the mice, we went for a walk along the suspension bridge at Reedy River Falls, and we enjoyed strolling along the river banks. The girls played and ran so much that AM tired herself out (as pictured below). Greenville has such an amazing downtown! It was great to hang out in the city where Micah and I met, remember some of our first days of dating, and reminesce about our wedding day.
