Our church's Wednesday night program is AWANAs (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed). SB has worked hard all year to memorize Bible verses, and she has almost completed the book for the 3 year olds. Along the way, she has received lots of stickers and patches for her vest. We're very proud of the way she has worked to memorize the verses, and we pray they stay with her for years to come. As part of AWANAs, the kids participate in a Grand Prix race towards the end of the year. Everyone puts together a car, paints it, and races it. A few weeks ago, the 3 and 4 year olds got to have their race. If you're wondering how SB's car did, lets just say that Micah and I were Grand Prix novices, so we weren't really sure how the whole thing worked. Next year, we'll have a plan, we'll weight the car down just so, and sand down the edges and tires so there's no friction, then we'll . . . Ok, Ok, maybe we'll just let kids be kids and we'll let SB do whatever she wants to the car again (and if she doesn't win, that's ok too!). I will say that she loved receiving a trophy (although we did have to start the conversation with her about why some kids got big trophies and hers was smallish), and she carried it around the house for several days after the big race.

Checking in her car before the race.

The kids anxiously watched each race to see if their car would be first.

I've really enjoyed being one of the Cubbie's teachers this year!
