We were able to go as a family to the circus this year. We were a little apprehensive about taking AM at such a young age (20 months), but she did surprisingly well! She watched most of the circus with rapt attention, and when her attention began to waver towards the end, we got some popcorn ("co-corn") and that stopped her in her tracks (she'll do most anything for co-corn). After the first few minutes of SB watching while covering her ears with her hands, we were able to persuade her to take down her hands and enjoy the entire circus experience (she remembered a few loud 'bangs' from last year's show and was trying to head off the loud noises before they came). When the elephants came out, AM tried to leave our row and go down to the stage ('ride em, wanna' is what she said). Also, we went an hour early for the pre-show. We got to walk around on the stage floor, interact with some of the clowns, try on costumes, and watch an elephant paint a picture. Here are a few pictures from our circus night:
