Our Fishing Adventure

We'd been telling SB for about a week that we were taking her on an adventure, but we didn't tell her where we were going. Micah's parents came to town, and we all went to Mr. Billy's pond to go fishing. It was SB's first fishing trip, and she was very excited when she found out where we were going. She caught a fish on her first cast of the rod (with some help from Granddaddy); in fact, she caught a total of 3 fish on our trip. We were shocked, when our normally (slightly) hesitant daughter fully emersed herself in the experience. She touched the fish, she played with the wiggly worms, and she waded ankle deep into the mucky water with her tennis shoes on. After a while of fishing, she found other things to amuse herself, mainly throwing sticks and pinecones into the water. We were speechless when we looked over and saw her laying flat on the (muddy) ground, sticking her tongue in the pond water. This is the same girl who won't finger paint because it makes her fingers feel yucky. Oh well, it was a priceless experience and we'll look forward to fishing at Mr. Billy's pond again soon. (And thank you to Mimi for keeping little AM inside the house with Mrs. Miriam while we were outside fishing.)
